Pineapple smash crew review

Pineapple smash crew is nothing short of an amazing game, but pineapple I am not too fond off, made by a single person which was in development for 2 years.

This is one of the games that brings the most simplistic terms of gameplay with creative blocky graphics mixed with lots of explosions and you get the most addictive game ever made. So the main aspect of the game just includes exploring randomly-generated space ships as a four man crew which is controlled as a single unit that follows all your commands with a single key stroke.

The goal is simply to go through each level clearing all the enemies from certain rooms in a castlevania-ish layout, firing hordes of bullets against hordes of enemies keeping all your crew members alive knowing if one dies they revert back to level 1.

Each unit of the four you control has his own life bar and can carry a single weapon/grenade. Keeping the crew alive for maximum firepower is the key to survival hording though multiple ships with different ranges of difficulty, which in turn levels them up giving them access to new grenade types.

Exploring different ships will cause the difficulty to rise as you go along, As you play through the flame infested levels the crew I’ll say pop culture references from time to time but story wise there literally isn’t one as its all good clean fun… well most of it.

Controls are very tight like any dual stick shooter but using a mouse and a keyboard, the sound track is full of chip tune which was composed by Syphus which goes very well with the grainy blocky visuals of the game.

Overall this game can get you going for a couple of hours but can feel a little repetitive after a good session so it’s good to play it in small bites. But other than that have fun smashing some pineapples!
